Starting Saturday, June 12, the Loving Spoonful will be at the Kingston Public Market every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday from 2-4pm. Come visit our booth to learn more about the Grow a Row campaign, or to drop off extra produce from your garden! Food donations will be distributed to local meal programs and the foodbank.

Starting June 8, join Loving Spoonful staff and volunteers at the Acorn Garden (located at the Oak Street Community Garden) every Tuesday from 4-6pm! These workbees are the perfect opportunity to learn about gardening, to share your gardening wisdom with others, and to help grow produce that will be donated to local meal programs and food banks.

Grow a Row will commence our presence at the Downtown Public Market on Saturday June 12th from 2-4pm. Look for us to drop off any produce you wish to donate, or just come by to say hello!
We will be at the market every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from now until October. And of course, you can drop off your produce at the Partners in Mission Food Bank (140 Hickson Ave) Monday – Friday from 9am-12pm and 1pm-4pm. Please state that your donation is for Grow a Row, so that it can be counted towards our goal of achieving 4000 lbs of donated locally grown food!

Starlight Cascade Gardens is outside of Yarker which includes a greenhouse to help produce the seedlings for the 1400 sq ft of garden space. They grow organic garlic, and heirloom vegetables. This year they are growing a couple of rows for carrots for the Food Bank. Thank you Kim Hay & Kevin Kell!

Georgette Fry is an award winning Blues artist, the director of the choir Shout Sister! and an avid gardener. She will grow “what ever you tell me” so let’s call it Tomatoes for Grow a Row. We only hope that her dogs, Harley and Dekker, will allow it in “their” yard.

6-9pm, Kingston Unitarian Fellowship, 214 Concession Street
Join the Grow a Row Committee, local gardeners and community members for a celebration including a potluck, music and more information about the Grow a Row campaign.

Welcome to Kingston’s new Grow a Row website! Grow a Row is a project coordinated by Loving Spoonful and the Grow a Row
Committee. In 2009 Grow a Row collected close to 3000 lbs of locally grown food. Our goal is to raise 4000 lbs of locally grown produce to distribute to meal programs, agencies and the foodbank as a way to create better access to healthy food.
